Before you book
A few health questions.
Massage is gentle, but it isn’t right for everyone every day. Please tell us when you book, and check with your GP, midwife or consultant first, if any of these apply to you.
You feel unwell, have a temperature or a stomach bug. Please move your booking: there’s no charge.
You’ve had an operation, an injury or a broken bone in the last few months.
You have a rash, burn, open cut or skin condition where you’d like treatment.
You’re being treated for a medical condition, or take medicine that thins the blood.
You’ve had a blood clot, or have varicose veins in your legs.
You’re pregnant. We offer pregnancy massage from 14 weeks and ask a few extra questions.
We’re massage therapists, not doctors, so we can’t give medical advice. If we’re unsure, we may suggest a gentler treatment or ask you to check first. Changing your booking for a health reason is always free.
Questions
The things people ask before their first visit.
How early should I arrive?
Ten minutes before your time, so you can fill in the health form over a cup of tea without eating into your treatment.
What do I wear?
Whatever’s comfortable. For massage you undress to your level of comfort and stay covered with towels throughout. We provide a robe and slippers.
Can I choose a woman or a man?
Yes. Pick a therapist on the form, or choose ‘A woman, please’ or ‘A man, please’ and we’ll book whoever is free.
What if I need to cancel?
Give us 24 hours’ notice and there’s nothing to pay. Later than that, we charge half the treatment price, unless you’re unwell.
Is massage safe in early pregnancy?
We book pregnancy massage from 14 weeks. Before then, we’re happy to offer a facial or a foot ritual instead.
Can we book together?
Yes. The couples’ room has two couches side by side, or we can book two rooms at the same time if you’d rather.
Is there parking?
Two free spaces in the yard, first come first served, and a pay-and-display car park on Mill Lane, two minutes’ walk away.
Is the building accessible?
Two of our four rooms are on the ground floor with step-free access and an accessible toilet. Let us know when you book.
